Help & Contact Us
Start with a real event. You can add the conditions, actions, and outcome now or come back later.
Create or edit an experience
In the Experience tab, tap New experience. Give it a title and save it as a draft if you are still working on it. The result is optional. Open an experience and use its actions menu to edit, move, or delete it.
Add a result later
Open the experience and tap Add result, or add a follow-up note and choose to use that note as the result. When a result is missing, you can choose a time for a local reminder in the editor. Notifications are optional.
Attach media or a place
The editor lets you select a photo or video, import a media file, record audio, use the camera, or attach your current location. The system photo picker lets you choose specific items without granting access to your entire library. iOS asks for camera, microphone, location, or notification access when you use those features. If access was denied, open the app's page in iOS Settings to change it. To remove an attachment, edit the experience and tap Remove beside it.
Organize folders
Create folders for related activities. Search in Folders to find a folder by name or an experience by its title, condition, action, result, or note. Open a matching folder to see matching experiences, then tap Show all to see everything in it. Open a folder to rename it, change its color, or delete it. Deleting a folder moves its experiences to No folder; it does not delete the experiences or their attachments.
Compare attempts
In Compare, select two or more experiences. Their conditions, actions, results, and next-time notes are grouped by criterion on iPhone and shown as a table on wider screens. Write a conclusion to save the comparison. Saved values stay in place when you edit an experience. Open the comparison and tap Review updates to choose which changed fields to bring in; your conclusion stays, and Undo last update restores the previous values. A comparison with saved values remains available after a source experience is deleted. For a comparison made before saved values were introduced, tap Keep current values to enable selective updates. Until then, it uses current experience values and is removed if a source is deleted. You can also edit or delete a conclusion. When reviewing a condition, mark whether it helped or hindered; rated factors appear in the folder's “What you've learned” section with the supporting attempts.
Back up or restore your journal
In Settings, tap Prepare backup, then Save or share backup file. The .triednote file includes experiences, folders, comparisons, and attached photos, videos, and audio. Keep the file in a safe place. To restore it, tap Restore from backup and choose the file. Restoring replaces the current journal, so save a backup of the current journal first if you need it.
Storage and permissions
Your journal stays on your device. The current app has no account or sync. If permission is denied, you can change it in iOS Settings. Export a TriedNote backup file if you want to move or restore the journal after losing or replacing a device.
Contact support
Include your TriedNote version, device model, iOS version, and the steps that led to the problem. If you attach a screenshot, remove private journal content first.
